- Chat Data: Messages exchanged through your AI chatbots, stored to provide the chat service.
- Knowledge Base Data: Files, text, and URLs you upload to train your chatbots.
- Widget Visitor Data: If lead capture is enabled, visitor names, emails, and phone numbers submitted through the chat widget.
- Usage Data: Analytics on conversations, messages, and feature usage to improve the service.
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the AI chatbot service
- To process your subscription and payments
- To send important service updates and notifications
- To improve our service based on usage patterns

3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use encryption for sensitive data including API keys. Chat messages and knowledge base content are stored to provide the service and are not shared with third parties except our AI provider for generating responses.
4. Third-Party Services
- AI Providers: Chat messages are sent to AI language model providers (e.g., OpenRouter) to generate responses.
- Stripe: Payment processing is handled by Stripe Inc.
- Google: If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email from Google.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access: Download a copy of all your data from your account settings.
- Rectification: Update your account information at any time.
- Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data.
- Data Portability: Export your data in JSON format.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (chatbots, conversations, knowledge base, leads) is permanently deleted.

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. The chat widget uses localStorage to remember GDPR consent preferences. No third-party tracking cookies are used in the widget.
8. Children's Privacy
WriterVai is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
